I completed my Master of Social Work at Carleton University and am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). I continue to expand my knowledge with professional development in areas such as parts work, dissociation, and trauma.

My clinical experience includes the role of a Social Worker at The Ottawa Hospital, working in long-term care facilities and private practice, as well as participating in programs which improve the health of vulnerable children. I'm the owner of Helman Counselling, the Co-Director of the West Ottawa Wellness clinic, and a Facilitator with the Crisis and Trauma Resource Institute.

I specialize in areas such as trauma, anxiety, relationships, and behaviour issues. I’m fully trained in EMDR, have undertaken additional EMDR-related trainings, and completed further training in areas such as parts work, dissociation, and Polyvagal Theory. I'm primarily an EMDR therapist, and use aspects of other therapies such as Narrative Therapy, DBT, positive psychology, and Ego State Therapy.
